Moosh Moosh joins with feline to assist NYC comedian

NEW YORK CITY – May 3, 2011 - When the veterinary clinic informed Amy Beckerman that her cat Steve required immediate and costly surgery to remove bladder stones, Beckerman lamented that she could foresee no other option but to euthanize her six-year-old rescue.

A resourceful kitty, Steve called up his buddies at Moosh Moosh and told them they were going to throw a party, “Steve Saves Steve: A Benefit to Save My Fuzzy Butt.

“We at Moosh Moosh are passionate about our animal friends and were honored to have assisted Steve the cat with organizing the fundraiser.” says Stephen Clemmer, CEO of Moosh Moosh.  “When the artistic community and business community share a value, everyone wins.  We came together to enjoy a fantastic evening and provided the support to ensure Steve received immediate help.”

The evening was consecrated by American Folk revivalist Daniel Goodman, whose debut was produced by much esteemed drummer, producer Anton Fier.

On the eve of her departure, Australian singer-song writer and animal lover, Greta Gertler treated the crowd to a sneak-peek of her west coast American tour with The Universal Thump.

The second half of the evening featured 2 artists produced by Grammy award winning founder of Ollabelle, Jimi Zhivago.  Up-and-coming songstress Jenna Nicholls left no soul unturned with song writing and presence delivered as a time capsule from the golden age of pop before feature performer Chris Riffle, fresh from the attention of the Grammy committee for Best Contemporary Folk Album, delivered the audience back to the present.

Admission to the April 30th concert of New York City mainstays was free, staged upstairs at the iconic Living Room on Manhattan’s Lower East Side.  Event guests and generous donors enabled Steve’s operation by participating either during the event or via Paypal for prizes including gift certificates to animal friendly Pet Central, and chocolatier Cocoa V,  and several New York City vegan eateries: BlossomBlossom Du JourCaravan of DreamsLoving HutRed BambooSacred Chow, S’nice, Soy & SakeTerri and Tiengarden.
